Webinar 3: Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA) of Emerging Energy Technologies: A Photoelectrochemical Case Study

In line with DESIRED’s efforts to develop innovative hybrid photo-electrocatalysts and advanced photoreactor designs for producing C2+ solar fuels from CO₂ and water, this webinar will explore how Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA) supports the evaluation and benchmarking of emerging energy systems. Using a photoelectrochemical (PEC) system as a case study, the session will guide participants through the environmental, economic, and social pillars of LCSA and demonstrate how sustainability metrics can guide early-stage technology development. The webinar aims to familiarise researchers, industry stakeholders, and project partners with a clear understanding of how LCSA supports decision-making and the design and optimisation of innovative PEC systems.
