Four "DESIRED" publications are out!

We are thrilled to share that our recent research efforts within the DESIRED Project have led to four impactful publications, pushing the boundaries of sustainable CO2 reduction and renewable energy solutions. Here’s a glimpse into each of them:

Efficient Photoelectrochemical Reduction of CO2 in Seawater with Cheap and Abundant Cu2O/Al2O3/TiO2 Electrode
By UW (University of Warsaw)
Published in Materials, this study introduces a cost-effective Cu2O/Al2O3/TiO2 electrode for enhanced CO2 reduction in seawater, achieving a 2.8-fold increase in photocurrent density while maintaining stability and efficient charge transport.

Titanosilicate ETS-10-Modified Cu2O for Enhanced Visible-Light Photoelectrochemical Activity
By UW (University of Warsaw) and CU (Charles University)
Featured in Catalysts, this work leverages ETS-10 as a protective layer for Cu2O, significantly boosting charge separation, CO2 capture, and photostability, pushing the boundaries of solar-driven CO2 reduction.

Orientational-growth of Cu2O {111} or {110} facets induced by frustules for CO2-H2O specific photo(electro)chemical conversion into methanol/ethanol under visible-light
By IC2R and CIRCC (Università degli Studi di Bari)
This innovative research demonstrates the use of bio-silicate frustules as templates to control Cu2O facet growth, selectively producing methanol or ethanol under visible light, paving the way for tailored photo(electro)catalytic CO2 reduction.

Insights of Cu2O/Zn5(OH)8Cl2 photocathode architecture for an efficient photoelectrochemical CO2 reduction to multi-carbon products
By UW (University of Warsaw)
Published in Chemical Engineering Journal, this study introduces a novel Cu2O/Zn5(OH)8Cl2 photocathode architecture that not only boosts CO2 reduction efficiency but also enables the selective production of multi-carbon products like propylene and butadiene.
