DESIRED Showcases Solar Carbon Recycling Workshop at ISEC 2026
The DESIRED project proudly participated in the International Sustainable Energy Conference (ISEC) 2026, held in Graz, Austria, on 14–16 April 2026, bringing together around 500 participants from across the sustainable energy community.
Within this setting, DESIRED hosted a dedicated workshop on 15 April 2026 at Messecongress Graz titled “Beyond hydrogen-based CCU concepts: Solar carbon recycling as a future CCU alternative. Potentials and challenges.”
The workshop sparked strong interest and active discussions around emerging approaches to carbon utilization, featuring keynote insights from Anastasios Peremis and Michele Aresta, followed by an expert panel that encouraged exchange between researchers, industry, and policy stakeholders.
Participants explored both the potential and current challenges of solar-driven carbon recycling pathways, highlighting growing momentum behind innovative CCU strategies beyond hydrogen-based concepts.
The strong engagement throughout the workshop and the broader conference reinforced the importance of collaboration, dialogue, and knowledge exchange in advancing more sustainable carbon and energy systems.
