The DESIRED Project participated in the ACS Spring 2025 Meeting & Expo
Between March 23–27, 2025, the DESIRED project participated in the ACS Spring 2025 Meeting & Expo, held in San Diego, USA, under the theme “Pushing Boundaries. Solving Global Challenges.”
The DESIRED coordinator, Prof. Angela Dibenedetto (CIRCC), together with Susie Dai (University of Missouri), Chunshan Song, and Ying Wang (The Chinese University of Hong Kong), co-organized three dedicated sessions within the Energy & Fuels Division entitled: “CO₂ Conversion & Utilization I: Novel Materials and Methods – Electrocatalysis Processes and Materials.”
The DESIRED technical manager, Prof. Michele Aresta (IC2R), delivered a keynote lecture on:
“Towards the Carbon Cyclic Economy: Alternative Carbon Sources and Innovative Catalytic Processes for Transitioning Away from Fossil-C.”
The DESIRED sessions were well-attended, attracting over 100 participants, highlighting strong interest in CO₂ conversion technologies.
In addition to the scientific sessions, the event also featured a vibrant industrial exhibition. The Expo Hall hosted over 200 exhibitors, offering attendees the chance to step away from technical presentations and engage directly with industry experts through interactive displays and demonstrations. Dedicated networking breaks and poster sessions provided exclusive opportunities to connect with leading companies, explore career opportunities, and attend professional development workshops—fostering valuable exchanges between academia and industry.
The ACS Spring Meeting & Expo is one of the world’s premier scientific events, bringing together thousands of chemical professionals and offering an excellent platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and scientific collaboration. The DESIRED project was proud to showcase its work and contribute to global efforts in sustainable carbon management.
